5/15/2012 Turnagain Arm

The first time we drove south from Anchorage to Soldotna we asked “How long will it take?”.  The answer was always… “How many times are you going to stop?”  At first we didn’t understand… but as we begin the 140 plus mile drive we soon realized that every turn offered another fabulous view and “Scenic Overlook”.  The Seward Highway hugs the dramatic shorelines of Turnagain Arm, and is  one of the most beautiful stretches of highway in America.  If you do not believe that there is a Master Designer then go drive Seward’s Scenic Highway.

  1. I drove through Turnagain am This past Sat. Afternoon. I saw 20 plus Dall sheep. I watched a grizzly/brown bear less than 100 yards from my parked car for over 15 minute, and i watched a young black bear for 5 minutes all in Turnagain arm! It was a fantastic and memorable trip, If babrb was there we would have some amazing photos I am sure! Thanks for sharing, Reubin
